LANSING — To celebrate Michigan Trails Week, the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance recognized 14 recipients of their Annual Trail Awards for their exemplary leadership as trail advocates in a ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda on Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Lansing.

During the event, state Rep. Rebekah Warren (D-Ann Arbor) was recognized as Michigan Trails Legislator of the Year for her tireless advocacy to protect Michigan’s natural resources and her willingness to reach across the aisle to work on key policy issues, including sponsoring Recreation Passport legislation, which is vital to local parks and trails funding, and supporting our state’s first designated water trails.

Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance serves as a statewide voice for non-motorized trail users, helping people build, connect and promote trails for a healthier and more prosperous Michigan.
